The onset of winter has a different meaning for everyone, for many it is the season to rejoice and chill, but for others, it is the season to worry and find ways to keep their body warm. It is not the same for all, as having a roof over your head and warm bedding to keep you warm in the chilly weather could be a luxury for many. Recognising this need and the gap in assistance, Steadfast Nutrition came forward to help the people by providing blankets to keep them warm. The drive started early in December and continued throughout January. 1500 blankets were distributed among the underprivileged sections of society – across slums in Delhi-NCR and a village and jail in Noida. The places that Steadfast teams visited included Noida Sectors 62, 24, 37, and 39, as well as Kashmiri Gate, Safdarjung, AIIMS, Ghaziabad, and Saritha village.
The team received a warm response to this drive, as people gathered around to receive their blankets, and being able to fulfil this need gave an utter satisfaction like none other. Blankets were also offered to the homeless people sleeping on the pavements to help them cope with the winter breeze. For the initiative, Steadfast joined hands with three NGOs – Save the Humanity, SEVA, and the Sashakt Foundation. The women inmates of Dasna jail received 400 blankets on Republic Day. The immense gratitude and happiness displayed by the women made the effort worth it.
This initiative is part of Steadfast’s holistic approach to promoting societal welfare. It aims not only to provide physical comfort but also to lift people’s spirits, helping them feel like integral members of the community. Personal growth must go hand in hand with community growth, as this is the only way to connect with and understand the challenges faced by society. Even as individuals we should try to help as many people as possible because there is nothing that makes you feel better than being helpful to others. Steadfast embodies this philosophy not only through the products it offers but also through its environmental, social, and governance initiatives.
